Evergreen Elementary School offers a Chess Club for 3rd and 4th grade students hosted by Mr. Tylk on Wednesday mornings before school. This club is for chess players of all ability levels! Evergreen Chess Club’s first meeting is on Wednesday, September 18. There are 21 sessions and the club will meet in the large gym. The cost of this activity is $25. 

• Attendance: It is important that your child attends class whenever possible.
  

• Drop-Off: 7:35-7:45 AM. Doors will not open until 7:35 AM. Chess Club officially starts at 7:40 AM. Children coming to school by car may be dropped off near the Large Gym entrance (Door # 17) and allowed into the school by Mr. Tylk. If you do not see the large orange traffic cone outside of Door #17, please remain in your car. For safety purposes, once the cone is removed and the gym doors are closed (7:45 AM) students must then use the front entrance to the school. Any child who walks or bikes to school must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at drop-off. This is for the safety of our students. After class, Mr. Tylk will dismiss the Chess Club players to their classrooms.
  

• Behavior: We expect our students to (SOAR) Stay Safe, Own their actions, Always be a leader, and Respect themselves and our school.
  

• Illness: Please do not send your child to Chess Club if they are sick. We follow the same illness policy as the school.
  

• First Aid/CPR: The school nurse is not available during Chess Club sessions, however, Mr. Tylk has access to a first aid kit and is certified in the use of CPR and AED machines.
